I want to be a storyteller!

I didn't realise how simple it could be to craft a powerful story which can connect and influence your target audience.

Kindra Hall's book ‘Stories That Stick: How Storytelling Can Captivate Customers, Influence Audiences, and Transform Your Business' has been on my reading list for a while now and I at last got around to picking up a copy last week.

It took a couple of days to find some quiet time to sit down with a cup of coffee and truly immerse myself in the pages. But when I did, I was fixed to the spot until I had turned the last page.  I like to underline passages I know I'll refer back to at the later date; my copy of Stories That Stick is now sea of multi-colour highlighting and annotation!

I thoroughly enjoyed the use of stories to support the concepts discussed and explained in the book, especially the story of the Father trying to impart some advice about the world to his teenage daughter who is about to go off to college.

My key take-away from the book: stories are all around us (you're even the main character in one right now).  No all stories are epic dramas or edge-of-your-seat- thrillers.  As long at the story you are telling contains a clear message which your desired audience will connect with – you have a winning story! It's all about how you craft the story.

If you are looking for a clear, step-by-step solution to help you tell more stories in your business, I would highly recommend this book.

Happy reading!

P.S. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the book! Drop me a DM on Instagram.
